WISA is a not for-profit, independent, productive organisation and network.
WISA’s Community Membership Program is designed to ensure that cost is not a barrier to connection, opportunity, and professional growth within the seafood industry.
We recognise that many women and gender diverse people across our sector, including students, early-career professionals, First Nations peoples, migrant workers, and others experiencing financial pressure due to cost-of-living increases, may benefit enormously from WISA membership but find the annual fee difficult to prioritise.
This program exists to change that.
The seafood industry thrives when diverse voices are welcomed, supported, and empowered. By extending access to those who may otherwise miss out, WISA strengthens:
Community Membership recipients gain access to the same benefits as full members, including networking, professional development resources, advocacy representation, and industry connections, ensuring they feel valued, included, and supported on their seafood journey.
WISA works with trusted industry partners, including universities, training providers, seafood businesses, and First Nations organisations, to identify women and gender-diverse individuals who would benefit most from membership support.
Allocation of Community Memberships remains the responsibility of WISA to ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with our purpose.
The Community Membership Program is funded through our Corporate Membership Bundles.
